Project #9 - Milestone Projects

 Project #9 - Milestone Projects

This semester of learning Object Design was a great deal of fun. I enjoyed being introduced to a new 3D modelling software, Rhino, and be able to see how it would have very real practical applications to my practice immediately.

I did struggle a fair bit with this semester due to starting the year off with 2 large public art installations that took a great deal of my focus. Working with Blogger to express myself also came with a great deal of limitations and frustrations that left me feeling unable to express the way I would like and this has had a tangible impact on the quality, bulk and thoroughness of my posts. I love this model of creation journaling, I may just need to find a better medium that organizes content more like I see it in my brain.

Along with the extra ciriculars this semester, I also lost my dad on Halloween which was really hard to deal with and required me to go above an beyond for my family which also effected my studies. As part of my processing, I used many class assignments and opportunities to help me process my grief. I created an additional creative project to help process as the end of my collection here.

Enjoy a collection of my works from my Fall semester of OBDF110.

I am the creative "Rainbow" Sheep of the family and it has given me a great deal of tools to process and express emotions. I took those skills and created an activity for my family to help process their grief.

I designed and engraved the acrylic pieces with my partner David and got the family members to decorate each of their own and extras to give away at the funeral service.

We've dealt with a lot of challenges in the family over the years with lots of infighting so we used this opportunity to challenge everyone to do the right thing and create in honor of the memory of my step-dad.

In Legacy of your memory, we shall acknowledge your inspiration.

To each of us, you gifted these seeds of strength, a part of you, that we carry with us.

With these seeds, we will plant the garden of beauty you fought so hard to find.

With this garden, we will help the world as you inspired us to.

May you live on forever within us.

From this day on, we create in your honor.
